Welcome to GensInc, an online police state one-hundred years in the future. GI7849 and GI3319 have relatively calm lives with cyber-jobs, cyber-partners and cyber hobbies. One day, they receive a task. They must meet in the flesh and develop an intimate relationship. The conflict? Neither has ever seen another person before. Adam and Eve are reborn.
No compassion.
No desire.
Only a book.
Reviews from preview - 1st Dec 2007 at Humboldt University
"This one act play by American playwright, Ashley Brandt presents us with a world where human beings have lost their humanity to the rule of technology. Despite the frightening implications of this world, it is precisely the humanity of the play that makes it resonate with the audience. Clever writing and directing, and believable acting infuse the entire play with humor and keep us emotionally involved with the characters and their struggle to understand their world and themselves. Don't miss it!"

"I saw the preview on Saturday (1 Dec 07) and was positively surprised. Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World" topics transferred to a Second Life Utopia or rather Dystopia. Ashley Brandt's play combines deep insights into human relationships,'courtship', real and virtual life communication with very comic and lively dialogues. Both actors were convincing and succeeded in drawing us - the audience - into their world (which was newer to their fictional selves than to us). Superb acting, indeed - probably superb directing, too.
In short: a playwright worthy of being performed, a play you shouldn't miss. And: it's relatively easy to follow even for those still learning English."
